5% Club Gold Membership for the Jamieson Team

5% Club Gold Membership for the Jamieson Team

It is our privilege to be awarded Gold Membership in the 5% Club in recognition of our commitment to learning, development, and skills.

The 5% Club promotes ‘earn & learn’ opportunities including apprenticeships, sponsored students, and graduate programmes, connecting like-minded companies who view ‘earn & learn’ as an integral part of their workforce development.

‘Earn & learn’ positions offer valuable hands-on experience alongside a qualification and paid employment, and the club’s aim is to increase the number, quality, and variety of opportunities available across the country through its members and employers.

Members of the 5% Club aspire to have 5% of their workforce in earn and learn positions within five years of joining and are audited annually to review their progress.

Each autumn, members are evaluated by an Employer Audit, which rewards success with gold, silver, or bronze membership. Gold membership is the highest level, requiring members to exceed the 5% requirement, which we are proud to have significantly surpassed.

In November, our Director, Andy Jamieson attended The Club’s Celebratory Event held at the Palace of Westminster and was delighted to receive our award, as one of just 40 SMEs to reach gold level membership.

Andy commented: “Our people are instrumental to our business, and we encourage employee development for every member of our team. We are thrilled to be recognised for our Graduate Programme and Apprenticeship Scheme and enjoy playing a part in the journey of our future workforce and leaders.

“At Jamieson’s, we employ a wide range of both technical and professional apprentices and at present, over 15% of our workforce are apprentices. We continue to recruit new talent at every opportunity and welcome the fresh thinking they bring.

“Our trainees are mentored by senior members of our team, who play a crucial role in their development. Our ‘earn and learn’ programmes’ success is largely due to their support and commitment, ensuring each individual is provided with the guidance and encouragement they need to progress in their chosen career.”
