Jamieson secured this project to carry out concrete repairs to Trafford Park Station and install new GRP coverings to both platforms.

This station is located in Manchester and was an important commuter station as it serviced Trafford Park Industrial and Manchester city centre. The existing platform was formed from pre-cast concrete sections which showed signings of spalling, delamination, crazing and general concrete failure all across the platform.

All the works to the platform had to be completed during engineering hours so as an on track Principal Contractor License holder, Jamieson managed booking the possession and line blocks, safe works packs and the safety critical staff.

 Our Scope of Works included:

  • Managing possessions during engineering access periods
  • Carrying out concrete repairs
  • Removing the shelter and platform furniture
  • Installing new GRP panels
  • Track gauging to ensure the new panels were installed correctly
  • New shelter construction
  • New induction loops
  • New GRP palisade fencing to both platforms
