West Midlands Signalling Centre Refurbishment
West Midlands Signalling Centre Refurbishment
Client: Network Rail
Project Value: £700k
Completion Date: February 2020
Jamieson secured the upgrade works to the West Midlands Signalling Centre through Network Rail’s competitive tender process.
The on-going work of the signal centre was Jamieson’s top priority and consequently Jamieson phased the works to ensure there were always toilets and kitchens available.
We liaised daily with the centre staff over access and moving materials around the site. Any noisy works were completed out of hours to ensure minimum disruption to the building occupants.
The site was deemed high security due to its importance to national train movement and infrastructure and our team worked with the centre’s team to provide additional security measures for our works.
Our Scope of Works included:
- Strip out of existing partitions, fixtures, and fitting
- New partitions extending the kitchen
- New kitchenette to signal centre dome
- New main kitchen in signal centre including white goods
- Small kitchen and breakfast bar to canteen
- New disabled access lift
- New shower area
- Upgrade of men’s and women’s toilets including IPS cubicles
- Decoration and flooring
- Mechanical and electrical upgrades including lighting
- Design and build of a new staff gym facility
- Smoking Shelter
