Birmingham New Street – Assisted Travel Lounge

Birmingham New Street – Assisted Travel Lounge

Client: Network Rail

Project Value: £157k

Completion Date:  June 2019

Jamieson’s were chosen by Network Rail to create a new Assisted Travel Lounge at Birmingham’s New Street Railway Station, one of the UK’s busiest stations.

This project was carried out at a very busy major railway station in a city centre location with limited access for deliveries and storage of equipment. To overcome this Jamieson used a ‘Just in Time’ ordering system and where possible had materials delivered to site early in the morning or afternoon hours.

The management of passengers around our works area was a primary concern during the planning of the works. Jamieson segregated our works with barriers and safety warning signage to ensure no unauthorised entry to the site.

The lounge received a high specification fit out of M&E and Jamieson completed all the necessary fire stopping with the appropriate certification.

Our Scope of Works included:

  • Strip out existing fixture and fittings New Partitions with fire rated boards
  • New bespoke reception desk
  • Staff kitchen
  • Electrical installation
  • Air Conditioning and ventilation
  • Flooring and decoration
  • Data installation with patch panel
