Project Completion – Abbey Hey Primary School

Jamieson Contracting has recently completed the refurbishment of two modular buildings and the construction of a new link extension between the two buildings on behalf of United Learning.

This design and build project utilised a timber frame for the construction of the extension with timber cladding and an IKO roof structure. The existing toilets were relocated into the new extension to create bigger learning zones in the current modular buildings. We also upgraded all existing M&E services and renewed the joinery, flooring, and ceiling finishes to four existing classrooms.

As part of these works, we developed the design from RIBA stage three through to six, working with United Learning, Barker Associates and Manchester Council Planning Team. Given the tight deadline set by the school calendar, Jamieson is happy to complete another project on time and under budget, ready for occupation at the start of the September term.
